BUSHCRAFT

Reconnect with Nature – The Wild Way

Bushcraft Club is an educational experience that offers the opportunity to develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning in an outdoor environment, with the overall aim of increasing an understanding and enjoyment of the Outdoors.

There will be a range of bushcraft tasks and activities on offer based on seasonal changes and how you can adapt to cope with those changes. You will develop an understanding of the natural environment while playing and working in the outdoors. You will work with tools, problem solve, experience different weather conditions and grow in confidence, self-esteem and motivation.

Please ensure that any clothing is suitable for the weather conditions of the day. You will no doubt get dirty and will probably smell of campfire by the end of the day. The following is only a recommendation:

  • Boots Wellies/walking boots (that you don’t mind getting dirty)
  • Warm clothing (ideally no jeans, as they take a long time to dry)
  • 3-layer system with T-shirt, sweat top/hoody and a warm coat
  • Warm thick socks
  • Hat & gloves
  • Waterproof jacket and pants
  • Small bag/rucksack

High Tide Adventure Company will supply any technical activity equipment needed.

Please ensure you bring any inhalers or other medication along with you on this activity. Any medication can be kept at the communal area with access when needed throughout the day.

The kettle is always on and hot water is always available, as well as a composting toilet.

There are a number of amenities when you drive through Langley Moor and Meadowfield, including a Tesco, village shop and a number of petrol stations. Where hot drinks, sandwiches and snacks can be purchased. There are a number of pubs (for something stronger) that serve food if you wish to grab food after this activity. Just ask your Instructor for details, who is always happy to help, as we feel it is essential to support the local economy.

Directions and meeting place will be confirmed about a week before the Adventure date.
